Wow. This year has been tough! Most of us have been quarantining at home, working from home, socializing through social media or on the phone. Which can make you start to question if the path you are on in life is the one you are happy with.
This is an excerpt from Elizabeth Gilbert in Oprah's book, The Path Made Clear. I love this quote - especially for the new year. Although she is speaking specifically to women in her quote, it can be applied to all. Never forget that you can constantly reinvent yourself and new doors are opening all the time. Too many people think that they have only one calling in life but that doesn't have to be true. You might have many callings at different stages throughout your life. Don't hold yourself back, explore and reimagine yourself!
Here's to reinventing yourself in 2021 or maybe to getting clearer about the path you are on.
"There are still huge swaths of women who never got the memo that their lives belong to them.
There's this instinct that they need a permission slip from the principal's office for anything. You are allowed to ask yourself some really important questions about your life. You are allowed to take accountability and ownership for your own journey. You're allowed to ask what serves you. I know you've been trained to serve up everyone. But you're allowed to turn that on yourself and honor your own life that you were given.
Here's the question. What have I come here to do with my life? That's the question that begins every single quest. What have I come here to do with my life? There's no one who hasn't had that question come to them. That's the call. Now, you can choose to ignore that question, or you can pursue it. And the pursuit is the beginning of the journey."
